Happy 85th Birthday Grandma Dot!

April 2015

Tommy had an autocross race, so I set off on my own with the kids on the 8-hour drive from Frisco to Manhattan. I had never drivn that long with the kids by myself, but they did really well! We made quite a few more bathroom stops than I would on my own, but the kids were troopers.

We made it to Manhattan on Friday night and spent the night visiting with my parents, Grandma, Aunt Karen and Wyatt, Courtney, Whitney and Blaise. It was so nice to see everyone!

The next day was Grandma's big 85th birthday party. All of the family from the night before were there and were joined by other friends and family from Manhattan and a few that had driven in from Oklahoma for the special occasion! The kids looked adorable in their birthday celebration attire:
Of course, with Grandpa there with his camera, we got lots of cute pictures of the kids:
It's been so long that I can't quite remember what they were looking at here. Roly Poly's maybe?
April in Kansas is not quite swimming weather, but it was our first time to see Aunt Karen and Wyatt's beautiful pool and when kids see a pool, you know they have to get in. Whitney and Livi were buddies!
They didn't stay in the pool very long, but they had fun while they were in:
After lunch, Grandma opened her birthday presents. Happy birthday, Grandma Dot!!
Of course, the day would not be complete without hugs for the birthday girl:
And ice cream, of course!
Sunday was Mother's Day. All of the moms in Frisco were woken up by tornado sirens, so I was thankful to be in Kansas. (the tornados did a little damage in our neighborhood, but thankfully, Tommy and the dogs were safe at our house). What do you do on Mother's Day, take pictures with mom! It was so nice to be with my mom and grandma AND my babies on Mother's Day!
Grandma and Aunt Karen were with all of their babies, too - Grandma, Aunt Karen, Courtney and Whitney:
Finally, Grandma and her first baby, my dad :)
We headed back to Frisco on Monday after a wonderful long weekend! Happy birthday Grandma Dot and Happy Mother's Day to all moms out there!
