Ka Chow!

By now, most of you are probably familiar with Jack's latest obsession, the Disney Cars movies.  "Chee-Chow" as he calls Lightning McQueen (after his famous catch phrase, Ka-Chow) and his sidekick Mater are requested on virtually a daily basis.  He's seen the movie so many times he will recite certain parts, which is pretty impressive for a 19-month old with a somewhat limited vocabulary.  Because of the movie, cows are not the only thing in Jack's mind that goes "moo," so do tractors (if you've seen the first Cars movie, you'll know what I'm talking about).  He has a Cars swim shirt, trucks and towel, pajamas, a full set of dishes and silverware, several books, and practically every Chee-Chow t-shirt his Mommy and Daddy see.  Maybe we indulge his obsession just a little, but it's so cute to see him so excited!

So... at the very last minute the night before, thanks to a friend's chance Facebook post, we learned that a Cars 2 Exhibit would be coming to Northpark Mall in Dallas.  Tommy and I both had to work that day, but we knew we couldn't pass up the opportunity for Jack to see lifesized characters from the movie in person. 

Yes, on what was one of the first near 100-degree days in Dallas, we took a few hour break from work, picked up Jack at daycare and headed to the mall.  We had no idea how popular the exhibit would be.  The line circled the mall parking lot, but we decided to wait anyway.  When he caught sight of the Cars truck, Jack got really excited and had to take Daddy over to check it out:

I must admit, I still think we were a little crazy to wait in line for almost 2 hours in the Texas heat to get our pictures taken with a couple of cars and the exhibit probably left a little something to be desired, but the look on Jack's face when he saw Chee-Chow and Mater in person made it all worthwhile.
